What Is an EPD and Why Do We Need Them?

An Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) is a third-party verified document, based on a life cycle assessment, that details the environmental impact of a product, assessed according to internationally recognized standards. Verified by an independent, accredited organization, the EPD ensures the accuracy, credibility, and transparency of the environmental data it provides. This comprehensive analysis comes from the life cycle assessment, covering everything from raw material extraction to manufacturing and transportation. It gives customers and specifiers the information they need to make more sustainable, informed choices.
