Boulevard commercial-grade planters combine the durability of fiberglass with the warmth of wood. The fiberglass liner has significant advantages over plastic liners. It keeps soil, ground, and irrigation moisture away from the cladding—extending the life and beauty of the high-quality wood surfaces.
This wooden garden planter with a screen is an attractive, easy-to-install solution for creating privacy or hiding unattractive elements (like building systems). The wood-clad FRP planter framework is only available in Pitch, but the steel laser-cut screen is available in all our powder-coated finishes.
An easy-to-install planter trellis is a great way to create privacy and mitigate views with greenery. Our fiberglass planter with wood cladding and Greenscreen trellis, powder-coated in a textured black finish, is perfect for enhancing commercial spaces.

Commercial Wood Planter Options
If your site requires custom planters, Tournesol offers a wide selection of product options to ensure you get a planter box that meets the specifications of your commercial property.
Below, you’ll find a quick summary of some of the ways we can make a planter perfect for you:
- Irrigation systems: Tournesol’s container irrigation systems are the best in our industry.
- Scoops: Square and rectangular planters can be connected end-to-end to create linear runs. “Scoops” lower adjacent planter walls allow them to hide beneath the soil surface, creating a continuous planting along the top. Contact us to specify unique scoops for your project.
- Casters: Recessed casters discreetly provide mobility and are available as an option for many of our wooden planter collections. Tournesol installs commercial-grade swiveling casters engineered to support the total weight of the filled planter. Unique caster configurations are available but are outside of our standard options. Contact us about specifying custom options for your project.
- TourneSeal: Need it watertight? Specify TourneSeal, our waterproofing solution. This is highly recommended for planters that will not have drain holes. We apply specific coatings to our FRP, GFRC, and Steel products upon request. Follow our warranty requirements and perform a field test for watertightness after installation before filling with media.
- Drain holes: Whether installing on-structure planters or planters at grade, thoughtful attention to drainage holes will keep water and debris from collecting on non-permeable surfaces. Drain holes come standard with our GFRC and Powder-Coasted Steel planters. For no additional cost, we can produce these planter systems without holes. Our FRP planters are manufactured without drain holes, so they can be drilled as required in the field. We can add drain holes to FRP planters using our standard drain hole configuration at no additional cost. See chart for details.
- False bottom: Add false bottoms to taller planters to reduce soil volume and weight. The false bottom option provides a soil depth of 18”. If other soil depths are needed, we can customize false bottoms to fit your project. We can also fill space with our lightweight VersiCell panels. Contact a Tournesol Advisor to discuss your options.
- Bottom reinforcement: When specifying an FRP planter that won’t have full basal support after installation, such as installing on pedestals, it is recommended to add a bottom reinforcement to reduce damage to a loaded planter. This is also recommended for planters anchored to the underlying surface.
- Tie downs: Tie Downs are available in all our materials. This option is for large planters to hold trees in place. They are added inside planters at the midpoint. Square planters use four, one in each corner, and round planters use three, spaced equally around the inner circumference.
