Park Avenue's Rooftop Oasis

New York, NY August 15, 2024

Located on the 8th floor of the MetLife Building at 200 Park Avenue in New York, you will discover a rooftop oasis known as the Skyline Terrace + Lounge, a unique creation of design firms Gensler and OJB. They are the masterminds behind the landscaping design of this amenity deck and full-service lounge space overseen by the project GC, Coyle Construction. Incorporating custom Wilshire Planters, Kitsap Planter Walls, and custom site-furnishing benches transformed the outdoor space into a serene escape high above the bustling streets of mid-Manhattan.

The green rooftop amenity deck includes sections of custom Wilshire Planters in Powder-Coated Steel and FRP Fiberglass material finishes. They line the terrace perimeter and are placed strategically throughout the deck, creating angular pathways and welcoming spaces. Kitsap in a powder-coated finish paired with custom L-shaped benches provide outdoor seating along beautiful tree-lined, shrub, and flower-planted ways. The cleverly designed space makes a genuinely inspiring and healthful biophilic experience for those fortunate to visit this rooftop space. Wilshire Planters with Scoops, one of our many Product Options, create long, uninterrupted stretches of greenery and ornamental flowering. The designers specified accessory pockets to accommodate lighting and power on the 8th-floor amenity deck, and Kitsap's flexible design made incorporating spacemaking with planter walls look easy.
