Standard Options for Commercial Concrete Planters
All GFRC planter collections come with flexible options, making it easy to find the perfect match for your commercial property.
Below, you can learn more about some of the standard options for our large outdoor concrete pots and planters.
- Irrigation systems: Tournesol’s container irrigation systems are the best in the business and one of the values of working with Tournesol.
- Change in dimension / angled length modification: Many of our planters can be ordered with a change in one dimension as a standard option.
- Accessory pockets: Add pockets to accommodate lighting, audio, power, and data. View our Fixture Compatibility Chart to use a Standard Accessory Pocket.
- Scoops: Square and rectangular planters can be connected end-to-end to create linear runs. “Scoops” lower adjacent planter walls, allowing them to hide beneath the soil surface and create continuous planting along the top..
- Casters: Recessed casters discreetly provide mobility and are available as an option for many of our planter collections. Planters receiving casters are built with reinforced raised bottoms so that casters are hidden under skirted planter walls.
- TourneSeal: This watertight solution is highly recommended for planters that will not have drain holes. We apply specific coatings to our FRP, GFRC, and Steel products upon request.
- Lift channels: Moving large planters on the job site can be challenging without the right equipment. Adding lift channels allows you to safely and quickly move planters on-site.

What is GFRC Lightweight Concrete?
GFRC is an acronym for Glass Fiber Reinforced Concrete. It's a cement-based mixture reinforced with glass fiber strands. The fibers improve the tensile and impact strength of concrete. The resulting product is far lighter than concrete reinforced with other materials and strong enough to endure in high-traffic areas.
Commercial property owners use lightweight GFRC for building cladding, facade wall panels, and more. It is a versatile and practical material for many property improvements, including pots, planters, benches, and fountains.
The material is also popular with commercial property owners due to its lightweight, which makes it easier to handle and can result in cost savings. GFRC is also highly resistant to outdoor sources of wear, including water, wind, and pests.
